Another great meeting with some more new members including Peter Johnson of Sussex Business Advisors, Paul Palmer of Icon Business Solutions and Liz Surtees-Lugg of Arbonne.

Our guest speaker Learning & Development Consultant, Martin Smith, delivered a lively, interesting and very thought-provoking talk all about VISTA goal setting. This interactive session had the group talking about their goals but using a different approach to the standard SMART to set them. Big thanks go to Martin. February  2011 Meeting News

Another great meeting where we welcome more new members to the group including Vernon Sparkes of EMS Services, Richard Brown of Emerald Finance, Sarah Dew of ISIS Regulatory Compliance and Gary Neal of Leo7.

Our guest speaker was Alex Stone of Just Too Busy, and AN founder, who spoke about understanding the WHAT, the WHO and the WHY of your business so that you can create successful marketing. She also spoke about defining and understanding the features and benefits of your business and you can download your business features and benefits worksheet here.

We also introduced a new benefit for AN members - a range of special offers BY members FOR members. Each month's offers will be shared in the round up email and also on this site (coming soon). The offers will stay up until the next meeting or the offer's expiry date whichever is the sooner.

January 2011 Meeting News

The first meeting for 2011 was a great success, welcoming back some past members including Alison Terry who is now well underway with her new business Positive Numbers - congratulations Alison!

We also welcome four new members: Sarah Tyrell of Salt VA, Matt Sutton from Emerald Finance, Katherine Stayt of Passionate4Flowers and Justine van der Weg of Eye for Art. Thank you for joining us and contributing towards a productive meeting.

A big thank you to Anne Clark of Blue Click IT Training for her talk on training for business - it was an  interesting and interactive talk.

November Meeting News

A lively and interesting pre-Christmas meeting, we welcomed some first time members to the group. Our guest speaker was Heather Godfrey of CM Databases Ltd and she spoke to the group about the importance of looking after your contacts, especially for delivering excellent customer service. We take a break now for Christmas, with no meeting in December and our next meeting is on Tuesday 25th January 2011.

Authentic Networking is a not-for-profit group that takes a long-term and supportive view of networking. We will only see the benefits of it by making sure we spread the word. There is no joining fee and each meeting costs just £15 so feel free to bring someone along to our next meeting.

October Meeting & Business Matters article

A quieter meeting than our launch event, we still enjoyed a good turnout of local businesses and welcomed some new members (click here for our members list).

Our guest speaker for October was Paul Dallibar of Gordian Solutions, who gave a very pertinent
and interesting talk on proper business planning.

Paul has kindly put together a one sheet summary of business planning actions from his talk. You can download your copy here. Thanks Paul again for your time and for sharing your expertise with the group.

Authentic Networking has also been featured in the latest issue of Business Matters (our with the West Sussex County Times on 28th October 2010) with an impressive half page article. Thank you to Theo Cronin, Business Editor and Callum Morrison, both from the Times, who came along to our launch meeting to see what Authentic Networking is really all about. Launch Meeting

A resounding success, the launch meeting of Authentic Networking had a turnout of
24 business owners from across West Sussex.

The group's founder, Alex Stone of local marketing consultancy firm Just Too Busy, gave the inaugural talk about what authentic networking REALLY and is and how it can be a successful strategy for you business.

More than that, authentic networking is a new way of networking that encourages a supportive,
friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We were also extremely lucky to have the local press from the West Sussex County Times visit us for our first meeting and hopefully there will be a write up in the next issue of the Business Matters Sussex magazine.
